Hi everyone
I was drawn to the site when I was googling an old 80's drink that I was considering recreating as part of a bespoke soda range I am creating. I have fond memories of it still as it was possibly one of two great tasting tropical drinks from that time and better than what is currently available. In truth they probably weren't as good as I seem to remember them but nevertheless in my mind I remember them with such fondness from hot summer days when I was a teenager that I am willing to invest the time into creating this as one of four of five flavours we will be working on.
To my surprise I found two images of one of them on this site, one from 1986 and another from 1988 with a different design. The problem is there is only a front image of the can and not a secondary image of the back. I get that the front is usually the best and most interesting part with the brand and design visible, however I was looking for the ingredients list to see what the make up was and that would have been on the back. There seems to be no evidence of this product existing other than this site so I am a bit stuck - i have been able to ascertain the four main fruit flavours and the order in quantity but as we all know sometimes there are other ingredients that give it that signature flavour.
I'm sure my interest is very unusual and I guess that having to take two images per can adds a lot more server space and time on behalf of the uploader so I understand why its not been done before. The cans were uploaded way back in 2012 and may not even exist now so probably unlikely to get the information.
The two sodas in question were Schweppes Island Fruits and Quatro. We'll try to recreate both and go with the one that tastes best.
Thanks for the site , lots of memories - can remember the old ring pull cans like it was yesterday.
