Good Afternoon
I am new to the site, and thought this looked like the right thread to post this in.
I'm wondering if there is a database somewhere that you can upload soda cans you want to sell, NOT trade, SELL.
My Father in Law has been a collector (probably better described as a hoarder) of many different collections. Recently he has decided to part with several boxes of his pop cans. These cans, both steel and aluminum, have been stored in a shed or the basement for YEARS without being sorted, picked or otherwise handled until I started sorting the boxes into some sort or order to figure out what we have. I've found how to value them, but frankly find listing them individually on eBay to be overwhelming - there are THAT many that he has parted with (and many more boxes still stored). I've bundled a banana box full up into smaller groups (4 to 20) by brand into Priority Mail boxes to attempt to distribute them more expeditiously. I'm just not sure how best to do this. If I do have to list the bundles on eBay, what would be a fair price to start them at? I was kind of thinking $1 a piece, but while I don't want to give them away, I don't want to scare away buyers either! I know most won't want to pay retail, although these are mostly graded 2 or better
I've found some people collect them, while others will take them apart flatten them and make things. I would REALLY hate to have a valuable can fall victim to a crafter, but I also know that collectors don't want to have duplicates of a lot of less valuable items, and that might be the best option for those, or maybe even the scrap yard?
I guess what I am saying is I need help to make sure this "collection" is cared for in the most responsible way that I can (no pun intended), but I also don't want to spend the next 10 years doing so. I'm asking for your help with that.
