The first and largest beer can collecting club in Australia. We are a group of collectors who collect beer cans and just about anything else to do with beer and breweries.
The purpose of our club is to foster and encourage beer can collecting, the study of beer cans, and to promote fellowship amongst collectors of beer cans in Australia and Overseas.
The ABCCA was founded in 1979 due to the efforts of Mike Pinkard and 34 other collectors and now has divisions in each state of Australia. These state divisions, which operate individually under the umbrella of the national body, hold monthly meetings where members come together to trade beer cans and brewery items.
Each year in January our six state divisions alternate in hosting the ABCCA Canathon, which is our yearly National meeting. In 2009 the Canathon was held in Ipswich, Queensland and next year the event is to be hosted by our New South Wales Division in Newcastle - for details of the 2010 Canathon click here.
Who is a beer can collector? Do you have a few beer cans in your bar? Do you have any brewery related items on display in your family room? Do you have any beer items anywhere? If ‘yes’ YOU are the same as the people who are members of the beer can club. Whether you admit it or not, you are a collector.
Why not come to a meeting and meet many other people with very similar interests and maybe even join and watch your collection grow.
