I know this topic was discussed briefly in another topic, but I wanted to bring it up separately. I have added cans, the odd one with a picture of the top of the can, because in my opinion it is a very important part of referencing the can. Sometimes the top picture is not approved for addition. Here is why I think the top of some cans should be added: The can museum is a collaborative effort by many collectors worldwide to create and build the most comprehensive can website. I love being a part of this effort, and adding cans to the site. I know some tops are just variations on cans, especially the Diamond cans from the USA in the 60's. Eg: The cans may be the same except for the canners information printed on the top. There needs to be a place for these variations in the future, because collectors looking to use this site as a reference guide needs to see what, and how many different versions may exist. Also, the Registered Trademark, or Reg. US Pat office is important for dating the can, and telling us if it was a domestic, test, or exported can. Another example are experimental or test tops. We all know what a juice top, or push button top looks like but some tops were never used regularly, or in other countries. Eg: And some cans, have contest information on the lids, not found elsewhere on the can, or prices, or just artwork that make the can unique from other cans. Eg: We have room for up to 4 photo's. I am not suggesting we need more photo's, but why can't one of the 4 be a picture of the top, if it is significant to the can? Again, if people are researching cans, lets give them all the information we can. Lets make this the most comprehensive can reference website in the world.

We have these new 'widemouth bottles' here in Canada. Basically its a can with a twist off top. We also have some 'Aluminum bottles' or 'cabottles' as collectors call them. Check out The Aluminum Bottle CANnoisseurs wesite at: abcchapter.com/ My question is, do these belong in the can museum? Should there be a special section for them since they are aluminum?
