I did a very poor job of taking the photos of the first few cans I submitted to CanMuseum. Is it possible for me to replace the main picture on each of them. I tried to update one of them, but it put the original picture back in, even though the only thing I changed was the picture.

It probably worked, however sometimes your internet browser will still hold onto the original for a while. Try clearing your browser cache and let us know if your updated image worked. Hitting [SHIFT] + [F5] a few times usually works for me to clear out the cache for that page.

I have tried many times, unsuccessfully to update photos on the museum. Clearing the cache doesn't seem to do the trick for me.

Please remember that all cans added or updated are put in a queue for approval by the admins. If you can give me a specific can you are having trouble with I can see if it is waiting to be approved.
So, if you update a photo, you definitely won't see it right away. You will see it, however, once it is approved.

I realize changes are subject to approval, but the reloaded page (with the message announcing the pending approval) still shows the original picture. I'm guessing there is a way to do it, but it is not obvious to me. Thanks for looking into it.

OK, I see the problem. When you update the can image the page doesn't show your pending updates. If you think it would be helpful, I can add this to the list of changes to make to the can museum. Meaning...if you submit a can update, only you and admins can see the pending changes. Does this sound like a good idea?
BTW - I do see this can on the pending list for admins and on our screen the image for the new can photo is a broken link. I need to do some more research to find out why and fix our admin tool. This is probably why it hasn't been approved yet. I hope to have this issue resolved this week. Thanks for you patience while we fix this.

This is now fixed. It will work properly for all updated main images from this point forward. Any previous updated main images never got to us. Please submit them again.
